T.E.A.M. Nigeria Ltd. is looking for an experienced Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer to join our dedicated project team to supervise various geotechnical activities and assignments in Kano Maradi-Dutse Railway Project, Kano State. The ideal candidate is expected to carry out responsibilities in alignment with project standards and specifications, while fully adhering to safety regulations. The role requires close cooperation with the department head and a multidisciplinary team of professionals throughout the project.

Job Description

  • Supervise all geotechnical site activities as per approved standards and specifications. This include verifying all relevant drawings and submitted test specifications and procedures for proper follow up of site works.
  • Coordinate with lab supervisors to verify borrow pit and embankment control tests for proper quality control of embankment works.
  • Daily report preparation and weekly report submission including all progress activities and duly record non-conformance by the contractor and similar site challenges.
  • Supervise bridge pile drilling works and associated integrity tests and provide well documented records for foundation verification.
  • Supervise concrete quality works on site and in labs.
  • Supervise assignments of site investigation works including boreholes and other tests as required.
  • Identify and report on time various geotechnical challenges during earthwork excavation, embankment filling, bridge foundation works etc.
  • Supervise foundation treatment works as per project standards and report any non-conformance on time.
  • Engage in monitoring and approval of construction materials for geotechnical assignments in collaboration with material engineering department.

Job Requirements
​

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Geology/Geotechnical engineering and membership of relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
  • Proven working experience in railway construction or similar projects.
  • Commanding knowledge of soil and rock classification systems.
  • Strong background in site investigation works is preferrable.
  • Ability to work in mutual respect with colleagues.
  • Accept responsibility and handles quantities of work.
  • Readiness to perform assignments under all working environment.
