Electrical / Electronic Engineer - Design Vetting & Consultancy Engineering

T.E.A.M Nigeria Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electrical / Electronic Engineer to oversee design vetting and consultancy for buildings and infrastructure on the railway projects (stations, service buildings, and external networks). The successful candidate will review and validate electrical system designs, ensuring compliance with approved project documents (designs parameters, standards, specifications, reports, agreements, meetings, employer directives, and industrial best practices) while adhering to management directives.

Job Description

  1. Review electrical design drawings, reports, calculations, materials and all other design submissions for compliance with standards.
  2. Vet and approve electrical system designs to ensure quality and adherence to project requirements.
  3. Conduct technical evaluations and recommend necessary modifications.
  4. Prepare technical reports and compliance documentation.
  5. Recommend appropriate testing methods for verification of technical non-compliance.
  6. Propose technical solutions with justifications for design challenges.
  7. Monitor project design progress and site execution, preparing reports accordingly.
  8. Evaluate and report on installation, testing, and commissioning of key electrical systems, including Earthing, wiring, Fire Alarms, power distribution, transformers, lighting, and control systems and all other electrical components
  9. Maintain clear and effective communication with project stakeholders (contractors, clients, consultants) to ensure smooth design and execution.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
  2. 5 - 10 years of experience in electrical system design and vetting.​
  3. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other electrical design software.
  4. Prior experience in consultancy and design vetting is an added advantage.
  5. Strong knowledge of electrical systems including earthing, wiring, fire alarms, transformers, power distribution, and lighting.
  6. Familiarity with safety and quality control standards.
