We are seeking a dedicated individual to assist the Head of Department (HoD) in the planning and execution of design vetting activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely completion of these activities while maintaining effective communication with contractors and client representatives. Key responsibilities include managing assigned tasks, overseeing subordinate activities, and fostering strong relationships within the project team.

Job Description

  1. Design development and vetting of drainage systems attributable to linear infrastructures (channels, ditches, culverts);
  2. Hydraulic modeling with dedicated software;
  3. Performs hydrological analyses;
  4. Definition of basins and hydraulic verifications, in particular perform one-dimensional steady flow, one and two-dimensional unsteady flow calculations, sediment transport/mobile bed computations;
  5. Realize mathematical models and simulations of channel behavior;
  6. Provide advice and technical support in the field of hydraulics.
  7. Preparation of the design briefs, technical reports, design analysis and calculations; 
  8. Review designs prepared by others part; 
  9. Prepare technical report, drawings and design drawings;
  10. Prepare Technical Comments;
  11. Interactive technical meetings with the Contractor and the Client;
  12. Supervision, Assessment and Mentoring of all technical and professional staff;
  13. Periodic visits to the sites of the infrastructure, in coordination with the Work Supervision Team.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate would have:

  1. High level of education (Hydraulic Engineer);
  2. Minimum 7 years of experience
  3. Excellent English (spoken and written);
  4. Capability to handle multitasks and sorting priorities,
  5. Strong interpersonal skills such as negotiating, problem solving, teamworking and knowledge sharing
  6. Proactivity, goal orientation and ability to work with tight schedules are required.
  7. Proficiency in hydrological analyses
  8. Proficiency in hydraulic modeling with dedicated software
